Project 2. Neonatal Intensive Care

Arpana’s work focuses on marginalized communities in rural areas of India. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Arpana Hospital in Madhuban treats premature and sick newborns, and stabilizes infants who need specialist care. Arpana Canada is raising funds to purchase much needed equipment and services for this unit.

Arpana Canada will support the Level 2 NICU through the services of a pediatrician, a transport ventilator, and working visits from Canadian midwives.

Funds raised in 2016 have gone towards the purchase of equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Arpana Hospital in Madhuban, India and training for rural village women.
