Project 3. Livelihood Opportunities
Arpana has formed over 800 women’s Self Help Groups (SHGs) in 248 villages, which enhance women's self esteem and economic conditions through micro-credit loans for domestic needs and for entrepreneurial activities. SHGs members are also trained in care for seasonal diseases, newborns, disabilities, emergency and general health, including sanitation and hygiene.
Arpana Canada will help aleviate poverty by providing materials and equipment for the benefit of women in need to be used for the teaching of embroidery, sewing, knitting and other livelihood skills.
